As part of 2017’s E17 Art Trail we have invited three local artists to show their work at St Peter's. They are Tony Blackmore, Jason Hawkridge and Mark McClure.
The
theme for this year’s Trail is STE(A)M, the acronym that recognises the
place of Art alongside the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering
and Mathematics. All three artists use mathematics in the making of
their work and each will be creating a new series of work to especially
show at St Peter's.
Tony
Blackmore says, ‘Whilst we were all inspired and excited in different
ways by St Peter's interior space, each of us were particularly
attracted to its strong geometry and light. We hope that new visitors
will come to St Peter's to enjoy the art, partake in refreshments and
reflect in the historic environment. There's also the added attraction
of having an amble in the beautiful surroundings of Epping Forest’.
The exhibition opening kicks off at 2pm on Sunday 4th June and will continue to run over the following two weekends of the 10th/11th and 17th/18thJune.
Timings will be Saturdays 10am - 6pm and Sundays 1pm - 6pm. You can
also talk to the artists about the work they've created from 2.30 -
3.30pm, Sunday 11 June.
